IDEC 2019 Successfully Concludes Second Edition

The second edition of the Premier Dental Exhibition and Conference in Indonesia concluded after three days of exhibition and conference. Organised by Koelnmesse and PT. Traya Eksibisi Internasional in collaboration with the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI), IDEC 2019 welcomed 232 exhibiting brands and companies from 18 countries, and three national pavilions from China, Germany and South Korea.

Over 4,000 attendees attended the 3-day event and participated in various activities held on the exhibition floor. Attendees had the opportunity to access and discover a wide variety of equipment and solutions, with some exhibitors displaying their latest innovations such as 3D printers. “IDEC has provided me with the chance to meet potential business partners. The visitors were also responsive and open to discussions and partnerships. It has been a fruitful exhibition for my company,” shared first-time exhibitor, PICOPACK Inc from South Korea.

Following the inaugural edition in 2017, the Indonesian market continues to remain of great interest to global players. This year’s show saw an increase in the number of exhibiting countries and even welcomed companies from Czech Republic and Russia. Additionally, local dealers and distributors also continued to show great support for IDEC. The show has been recognised amongst businesses as a platform to expand their brand reach and discuss international opportunities. “This is the second time we have joined IDEC and it is better than the first edition. Our company received a greater crowd this year,” expressed local exhibitor, PT Fondaco Jayatama.

Held parallel to the exhibition, 16 conference sessions and 10 workshops covered the latest trends in the development of dentistry as well as prevailing concerns related to elderly patients. A total of 18 local and international speakers presented on topics ranging from endodontics, dental photography, orthodontics, digital technology in dental and mouth restoration, the development of lasers and more. “Dental professionals are constantly looking to update and improve their knowledge and skills. To meet this demand, IDEC’s scientific program comprised of diverse topics including the latest trends in dentistry,” shared Chairman of IDEC 2019, drg. Diono Susilo, MPH.

“It is essential for the Indonesian market to evolve and adapt to keep up with the global dental industry. As an extension of IDEM Singapore, IDEC plays an important role in bridging the gap between international companies looking to enter the Indonesian market and vice versa. Nonetheless, IDEM Singapore continues to receive strong support from dental professionals in Indonesia and the next edition in 2020 is no exception,” shared Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director of Koelmesse Pte, Ltd.
